Day Trip Surfing Tokyo
A private surf day from your Tokyo hotel to the coast and back, guided by Kosuke, an English-speaking local surfer.
From ¥88,000 for one surfer or ¥128,000 for two. Board, wetsuit and hotel pick-up included.
How the day goes
The night before, I check the forecast and choose the beach that suits the conditions and your level, in Chiba or on the Shonan coast. You don't need to plan anything or bring any gear.

Pick-up at your hotel
I meet you at your hotel in Tokyo's 23 wards in the morning. Boards and wetsuits are already in the car.

In the water
About 90 minutes later we're at the beach. I explain the local etiquette and surf with you. New to surfing? Add a lesson.

Lunch by the coast
We stop somewhere I like, such as shirasu-don in Shonan or grilled clams in Kujukuri. Meals are paid separately.
Then it's back to your hotel, or on to a secondhand surfboard shop or a Japanese bath first if you've added one.

Your guide
Kosuke Osawa
I started surfing in high school and have been chasing waves for 28 years. During college, I gained experience teaching others and sharing the joy of the ocean. Having lived in the US as a child, I am bilingual and fluent in English.
I have made thousands of day trips from Tokyo to local surf spots, giving me expert knowledge in selecting the best conditions for the day. My surfing journey has taken me across Japan—from Kyushu to Hokkaido—and around the world, including San Francisco, Hawaii's North Shore, Morocco, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.
Surfing has connected me with friends globally, and I look forward to meeting new people and sharing the stoke through this experience.

Where can you pick me up?
We pick you up and drop you off at your hotel anywhere in Tokyo's 23 wards, at no extra charge.
Is this a surf lesson?
This is a guided surf trip. Lessons are available for ¥8,000 per surfer and recommended for beginners.
What should I bring?
Please bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and some cash for food and drinks.
Are beginners welcome?
Yes. We recommend adding a lesson for each beginner (¥8,000 per person).
What if the weather is bad?
If we need to cancel due to weather conditions, you will receive a full refund.
How long is the tour?
About 8 hours for surfing only, and 9 to 11 hours with the secondhand surfboard shop or bath visit, including pick-up and drop-off in Tokyo.
Is food included?
Food is not included, but we can stop at local restaurants along the way. Your guide will recommend great spots.
